View a model locally
Open a 3D model in the free Proximae viewer. No account is needed and nothing is uploaded.
The free 3D viewer at proximae.io/preview opens a model in your browser, in the same viewer Proximae uses for reviews. It needs no account, and nothing is uploaded: the file is read on your own computer.
Prerequisites
- A current web browser.
- A model as a
.glb,.gltf,.fbx, or.objfile, or a.zipthat holds the model and its textures.
Steps
- Open proximae.io/preview.
- Drag the model file onto the page, or choose Choose model file and pick it.
- Orbit and inspect the model with the normal viewer controls.
Models with separate texture files
Put the model and its textures in one ZIP and open the ZIP. When a ZIP holds more than one model, the viewer asks which one to open.
Try material changes
With the outliner open, pick a material to adjust it in the panel on the right. Changes show in your browser only and are never saved; see Edit materials.
Expected result
The model opens in the viewer. Nothing is stored, so closing the page discards it.
Share the model
The viewer does not share anything. To send a model to a client for review, sign in to Proximae and upload it; see Upload assets.
Common problems
- The file can't be previewed. Choose a
.glb,.gltf,.fbx, or.objmodel, or a.zipwith the model and its textures. - A glTF opens without its textures, or does not open. A
.gltfthat keeps its data in separate files has to be in one ZIP with those files. - An FBX or OBJ file does not open. These are converted in the browser, which needs a current browser version.
