Preview locally

Check the optimized export in your browser before anything is uploaded.

A local preview runs the same export and optimizer as an upload, then shows the result in the Proximae viewer in your browser. Nothing leaves your machine until you choose to upload.

Steps

  1. In the Proximae sidebar tab, set What to send and the export settings as you would for an upload.
  2. Under 1. Check your model, choose Preview in Browser. The scene is prepared and a preview page opens in your browser.
  3. Orbit and inspect the model with the normal viewer controls. Check materials with Review Materials in Blender if something looks off.
  4. Change the scene and choose Refresh Preview to prepare it again. The open browser page updates on its own.

Upload what you previewed

When the preview looks right, go to 2. Send to Proximae and choose Upload to Proximae. If the scene changed since the preview, the dialog asks whether to upload What I Previewed or the Current Scene. Uploading the previewed model needs no second preparation.

Save the file instead

Save Model File writes the optimized model to disk, for example to attach it elsewhere. Start Over discards the current preview.

Notes

  • The preview page is served by the Proximae web app but the model is read from your machine through the extension. Keep Blender open while previewing.
  • How Previews Work in the panel summarizes this behavior.
