Axis views and projection

The numpad keys follow Blender: 1 front, 3 right, 7 top, and with Ctrl the opposite side. Numpad 5 toggles between perspective and orthographic projection.

Images

Drag to pan and scroll to zoom. Press F to fit the image to the view, or choose 1:1 for actual size. On touch, one finger pans and a pinch zooms. While a drawing tool is active, one finger draws and two fingers pan and zoom.

Animation and video

An animated model shows a clip selector and a timeline; a video shows the same transport. Play, scrub, loop, and step a single frame at a time. The review frame rate is chosen from the frame rate control on the timeline, and time is shown as mm:ss:ff timecode or as a frame number. A comment left while a clip is playing records the clip and the frame.

Inspect the model

  • Press I to isolate the selected part of the model and S for mesh selection.
  • Press U to open the UV inspector.
  • Press Shift+S to show model statistics such as triangle counts.
  • Press G to toggle the grid and Shift+A the axis gizmo.

Outliner

The outliner lists the parts of a 3D model as a tree, in a panel to the left of the viewer. Press O, choose Outliner from the viewer menu, or use the panel button in the header to show or hide it. Drag its edge to resize it. It appears on wider screens only.

  • Select. Click a part to select it, and it is outlined in the viewer, as it would be if you clicked it there. Ctrl-click adds or removes a part, and Shift-click selects a range. Selecting a part in the viewer highlights it in the outliner.
  • Hide. Hover a part and click the eye to hide it. Hidden parts stay in the list, dimmed. The eye at the top hides or shows everything at once.
  • Search. Type in the search field to find parts by name.
  • Parts made of several materials list each material underneath, so a single piece can be selected on its own.

Parts hidden in the outliner are saved with a comment, the same as parts hidden in the viewer.
