Getting started

What is Proximae?

A short tour of the ideas every Proximae workflow is built on.

Proximae is a platform for reviewing and approving 3D assets. It replaces the loop of exporting turntables, emailing screenshots, and collecting notes in chat with one place where a model is viewed, discussed, and signed off.

Workspaces and projects

A workspace is the account-level home for a team. It holds members, the plan and usage limits, and every project the team works on.

A project groups the assets for one piece of work. Members can be given access to a whole workspace or to selected projects only.

Assets and versions

An asset is one model, image, video, or environment map inside a project. Each upload to the same asset becomes a new version, so earlier states stay available and can be compared. Approval always applies to a specific version, not to the asset as a whole.

Reviews and shares

Feedback is left as comments pinned to a point on the surface of a model or to a spot in an image or video frame. A comment saves the exact view it was made from, so anyone opening it sees what the reviewer saw.

A share is a link that lets people outside the workspace review assets in the browser without creating an account. Each share controls whether its reviewers can comment, approve, and download.

Integrations

The Blender extension sends a scene straight from Blender to a project as a new asset or a new version, and can preview the export in your browser before anything is uploaded. See the Blender guides.
