Assets and versions

One asset is one file with a history of versions, each reviewed and approved on its own.

An asset is one model, image, video, or environment map in a project. Every upload to the same asset becomes a new version with its own comments, its own approval state, and its own review copy.

Versions

  • Uploading a file as a new version of an existing asset creates the next version number. The earlier versions stay available.
  • Comments and drawings are saved against the version they were made on, so a sketch never appears over a newer file where it no longer lines up.
  • Approval belongs to one version. A new version starts unapproved.
  • Each plan caps how many versions one asset holds at a time. Deleting an older version frees its slot.

Processing

A newly uploaded version goes through a short processing pipeline before it is ready to review: a model is converted and optimized, an image gets its display variants, a video is checked and prepared for playback. The statuses are listed in Processing statuses.

Trash

Trashing an asset hides it and its versions from the project. It can be restored until it is purged.
